Step Three: Be genuine

Hey y'all! I did step away for about a week and spent some time relaxing with my family. My kids are home all day during summer break, and I wanted to enjoy some time with them over the July 4th holiday week!

This is not only an excuse for my absence for a week from my blog, but a segway into my next post topic....being genuine. When you are speaking with your donors/clients, don't try to be someone you're not. I'm a mom who loves balancing the work I'm passionate about with valuable time with my kids! I'm sure you can sense that when others are faking, so others will sense that false front with you, as well.

Take a genuine interest in your supporters. Whether through personal interaction or fairly regular surveys, or preferably both, find out what makes them tick...what makes them feel appreciated....and then give them just that! Treat them as you'd like to be treated, simply put.

This isn't something to overthink. Be nice, be genuine, and feel the warmth of those relationships flourishing!
